In accordance to destiny
Read an article about the financial crisis on the BT today, usually not too excited bout such articles, just trying to look at some facts and figures, critics and views tire me..
the article somehow digressed into something else... It quoted einstein "Common Wisdom", stating that if one reads too many books by contemporary authors, one will be trapped in the thinking of his/her era.
The greeks who commonly believed in mythology and feared their pagan gods, then came the the coming of the romans and christianity, then came science and aethism, in which each era had their contemporary thoughts and common wisdom that was thought to
be so true.
There was once monarchy.. then came capitalism, socialism, communism... all thought to be the ways things work... or at least so in their time. Human thoughts evolve in time and things change every few centuries... and finally....
we will all come to know that circumstances.. situations....and common wisdom... are all but in accordance to destiny... or will we?

kuanfucius says
I've always pride myself as someone with a somewhat elastic moral values.
Don't get me wrong, i'm still the regular law abiding singaporean with the occasional jaywalking. However, through the years, i've learnt to be less critical of others.
I feel that sometimes it's the environment that creates what you are, and being human, more than often, many things are out of your control. We should try to empathize with others a little more than simply passing useless critics. Everyone makes mistakes, including you,i'm sure you would very much appreciate some understanding and forgiveness for your mistakes, keep this in mind before you condemn others.
Of course, this doesn't mean that the law can be flouted without consequences, the laws are in place to protect our lives and assets, and also maintain guidelines for moral order to secure the greater social stability. The law should be respected, but at the same time, also examined extensively to provide fairness to each and every individual.
But more than often, people forget what laws, moral and mainstream social standards are for, they end up using it as a benchmark to either place someone on the social pedestal or condemn them to the slums. This is mainly caused because of extensive propogation of certain laws, mainstream society standards or moral values without explaining the reasons behind these standards. And sometimes such propaganda is done for the sake of the financial benefits of a few, and the vicious cycle continues.
To quote an example,
The American Dream - It was initially described as "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness." It refers to the freedom to allow all citizens to pursue their goals in life through hardwork and free choice.
However, today, the american dream has evolved, today the american dream is some lala land in Hollywood/Wallstreet. Apparently these days, according to the ferrxri/Gxcci advertisements your deserved social standing is determined by the car you drive, the clothes you wear, stresses on your pay cheque and your job title. If you're not a highly paid banker or a hollywood star, you don't qualify for the american dream. What happened to freedom of choice??
Although i don't condone the actions the AIG executives and think they should cough out the bonuses they don't deserve, we should also understand their circumstances, it isn't so easy leading the high life, they have to keep certain standards to keep their place in their social circle, if they don't they would end up being ostracized by their friends and their kids bullied in school.
Anyways, too tired to continue, should simply conclude, we should always see lifes from more angles of life, there is always a reason behind an action. We should examine the background of a person and ask yourself, why is he/she in his/her current position. If i were in their shoes, what would i do, would i become them?
This is what i call a "positively neutral mindset", if everyone could attain this sort of mindset, the world would truly be at peace, but then again, humans are humans. So well, i just typed a whole bunch of crap.
Quote Stewie: "I wear long sleeve shirts under short sleeve shirts under long sleeve shirts."
Forgotten what love felt like, It feels like now, love seems to be based on sex, money, obession, possesive-ness. This song reminded me of what it felt to really be in love. This is a singalong song..... lalalalala

desire
Desire is like HIV, it engulfs you and you never seem to be able to satisfy it.
It's state changes constantly and you never seem to be able to identify and conquer it. When you think you have found it's DNA, it switches identity, slowly.. it overpowers you and you sink into the oblivion, it is a disease that is without cure, and it will wipe us out in time to come.

The cycle, they cycle
Before the boom
they talk about it they, talk about it
we go into it we go into it,
we forget we're in it, we forget we're in it
we get out of it, we get out of it
Into recession
they talk about it they, talk about it
we go into it we go into it,
we forget we're in it, we forget we're in it

Spiralling oil and the raging deflation bear
RoaRssS*****
ok.. that's about it...
Stumbled upon something interesting today,

That was in 2007, in today's oil producing countries have been trying to tap on high oil prices which once peaked at close to $147/barrel and with an ever increasing pressure from western capitalism for OPEC to increase output, oil producing countries made huge capital investments on infrastructure, oil wells, offshore oil rigs, invested in offshore oil exploration, just look at the books of keppel offshore and Ezra to get an idea of the situation.
Faced with the downward spiral of oil prices, those whose orders have not been fulfilled have the luxury of canceling it, however, those who have already made the move, they have to continue producing, as you can from the chart above, those were the breakeven points per barrel of oil, in 2007, however, in 2008, more advanced access points have been built to access inaccessible oil, the necessary infrastructure much more costly and the capital investment beyond imagination.
This easily brings up the breakeven point by 30-40%.
OPEC has been calling for a cut in ouput by 2million barrels per day to stave off the decrease in oil price, but apparently, not everyone is adhering to the mandate passed down, the bottomline is that, everyone has their bottomline to watch out for, under-utilizing their current capacity can make a huge hole in their current account, especially after spending so much on the newly installed facilities.
It seems that oil prices might not hold $70 after all, this christmas is going to be a chilly one, everyone please pray for the economy, however, the good news is that oil is probably going to fuel the raging bear of deflation and bring down prices everywhere just as it brought it up....... I just hope that as the ham in the middle of the supply chain, we will be able to hold our ground against the big bear... i don't wanna get eaten up.... *prays
