kuanfucius says

I've always pride myself as someone with a somewhat elastic moral values.
Don't get me wrong, i'm still the regular law abiding singaporean with the occasional jaywalking. However, through the years, i've learnt to be less critical of others.

I feel that sometimes it's the environment that creates what you are, and being human, more than often, many things are out of your control. We should try to empathize with others a little more than simply passing useless critics. Everyone makes mistakes, including you,i'm sure you would very much appreciate some understanding and forgiveness for your mistakes, keep this in mind before you condemn others.

Of course, this doesn't mean that the law can be flouted without consequences, the laws are in place to protect our lives and assets, and also maintain guidelines for moral order to secure the greater social stability. The law should be respected, but at the same time, also examined extensively to provide fairness to each and every individual.

But more than often, people forget what laws, moral and mainstream social standards are for, they end up using it as a benchmark to either place someone on the social pedestal or condemn them to the slums. This is mainly caused because of extensive propogation of certain laws, mainstream society standards or moral values without explaining the reasons behind these standards. And sometimes such propaganda is done for the sake of the financial benefits of a few, and the vicious cycle continues.

To quote an example,
The American Dream - It was initially described as "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness." It refers to the freedom to allow all citizens to pursue their goals in life through hardwork and free choice.

However, today, the american dream has evolved, today the american dream is some lala land in Hollywood/Wallstreet. Apparently these days, according to the ferrxri/Gxcci advertisements your deserved social standing is determined by the car you drive, the clothes you wear, stresses on your pay cheque and your job title. If you're not a highly paid banker or a hollywood star, you don't qualify for the american dream. What happened to freedom of choice??

Although i don't condone the actions the AIG executives and think they should cough out the bonuses they don't deserve, we should also understand their circumstances, it isn't so easy leading the high life, they have to keep certain standards to keep their place in their social circle, if they don't they would end up being ostracized by their friends and their kids bullied in school.

Anyways, too tired to continue, should simply conclude, we should always see lifes from more angles of life, there is always a reason behind an action. We should examine the background of a person and ask yourself, why is he/she in his/her current position. If i were in their shoes, what would i do, would i become them?

This is what i call a "positively neutral mindset", if everyone could attain this sort of mindset, the world would truly be at peace, but then again, humans are humans. So well, i just typed a whole bunch of crap.

Quote Stewie: "I wear long sleeve shirts under short sleeve shirts under long sleeve shirts."

Forgotten what love felt like, It feels like now, love seems to be based on sex, money, obession, possesive-ness. This song reminded me of what it felt to really be in love. This is a singalong song..... lalalalala

desire

Desire is like HIV, it engulfs you and you never seem to be able to satisfy it.
It's state changes constantly and you never seem to be able to identify and conquer it. When you think you have found it's DNA, it switches identity, slowly.. it overpowers you and you sink into the oblivion, it is a disease that is without cure, and it will wipe us out in time to come.

The cycle, they cycle

Before the boom

they talk about it they, talk about it
we go into it we go into it,
we forget we're in it, we forget we're in it
we get out of it, we get out of it

Into recession

they talk about it they, talk about it
we go into it we go into it,
we forget we're in it, we forget we're in it
we get out of it, we get out of it
